To Infinity & Beyond: An Origin Story
Dropping some truth, a story untold,
From tuning into Oprah's broadcast, to a world turned cold.
Twin towers fallin', a vision of dread,
I hear the base commander's voice, words filled with lead.
"Fifteen minutes to evacuate," the PA did scream,
Twenty years young, an Airman's bad dream.
September eleventh, etched in my brain,
My future flashed by, war's fiery reign.
Life changed forever, the war's harsh sting,
Searchin' for myself, a new song to sing.
Barely twenty-three, back in "normal" life's hold,
But normal was gone, a story untold.
Fear gripped the nation, a vibe I could feel,
Back from the beast, the wounds start to heal.
Seekin' balance, in this world so new,
College, marriage, travels, I flew.
Twenty-seven countries, self-help galore,
Nothin' worked, misery at my core.
Then Guatemala called, a twist of fate,
A stomach bug hit, sealed my own gate.
Three days of sickness, cold sweats and pain,
A host mother's care, a herbal refrain.
One ounce of herbs, a remedy true,
Cold sweats and tremors, then I broke through.
Healed by the morning, a purpose so clear,
Helping people now, no weapons, no fear.
Tea was the answer, a thread through my past,
From grandma's dumplings to memories that last.
English tea rooms, Kuwait's late-night vibe,
Peace in a cup, where spirits revive.
The wheels started turnin', a mission to start,
Bringin' that peace back home to my heart.
Now a Tea Sommelier, certified and true,
Blendin' teas and herbs, for me and for you.
Sacramento's the spot, farm-to-fork so grand,
Classy Hippie Tea, plantin' seeds in the land.
Buildin' community, local and wide,
Connectin' tea lovers, with nothin' to hide.
Travel, wellbeing, honest and real,
A global connection, that's how we feel.
Travel well, travel far,
Leo Hickman, Tea Sommelier, that's who I are.
